More than a year later, Grand Theft Auto 6 has yet to receive a second trailer, and a former Rockstar developer thinks the company should continue this strategy of silence. GTA 6 has a legitimate claim to being the most anticipated game of all time – its only trailer recently hit a huge milestone and fans are clamoring for more footage from the upcoming game.
In what started as a retrospective of the release of Grand Theft Auto 4 on its 17th anniversary, former Rockstar North developer Obbe Vermeij (via GamesRadar) weighed in with a tweet on the GTA 6 trailer discourse. "If it was my call I wouldn’t release any additional trailers," he said. "There is more than enough hype around [GTA 6] and the element of surprise is going to make the release only bigger as an event." In the replies, Vermeij says he supports the idea of Rockstar announcing a release date and nothing else in the lead-up to GTA 6.
