5:25pm ET - Thanks for following along! Much like Borderlands' gameplay, the State of Play for the fourth installment was chaotic and quick. There's a lot to digest, but it appears to be well within what longtime fans likely expected from Borderlands 4. The emphasis on addressing player feedback from BL3 is nice to hear, and many of the new movement mechanics are interesting, and will hopefully spice up combat across the board.
5:23pm ET - The Borderlands 4 State of Play has ended with a final sizzle reel and the slogan "break free." A final splash screen reiterates the game's new release date of September 12, 2025.
Borderland 4 Announces First Hands-On Gameplay Event
Borderlands 4's first hands-on gameplay opportunity will occur in June 2025. No additional details were revealed in the State of Play.
5:21pm ET - Borderlands 4 is confirmed to feature mission and boss replay mechanics, saving players from keeping and reloading saves. There is also an emphasis on very large boss fights.
