Vanguard mains in Marvel Rivals have taken to socials to voice their annoyances with teammates for not dealing with a very frustrating character for the Vanguard characters. The game currently has 10 Vanguard characters, with Emma Frost being added recently with Season 2 and its Hellfire Gala theme. None of them have a particularly effective strategy for countering flying characters, except for Emma Frost, but given the more "tank" role of the Vanguards, their time is often taken up by taking damage for teammates, leading to flying characters picking off the Vanguard player.
In a Reddit post by user BroodMoanZeal, Vanguard players are begging for Duelist teammates to switch to an effective counter-pick when the opposing team has an Iron Man player, with BroodMoanZeal saying: "Please DPS players, stop leaving Iron Man uncontested. There's not much more miserable than playing Vanguard and just getting shredded by an Iron Man who isn't being pressured AT ALL." Iron Man is the most mobile flying character in the game, so he can pressure anyone with ease, but especially Vanguards if Duelist players leave him unchecked.
