Back on April 18th, 2024, Moon Studios—widely celebrated for its Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps titles—ventured into new territory with the release of No Rest For the Wicked, an isometric Soulslike. As a first attempt at the genre, the studio delivered a solid experience, and I played the hell out of it. Honestly, it was pretty damned good. However, the game launched as an early access title, which came with its mix of pros and cons.
On the plus side, early access meant players could jump in, experience the game early, and provide feedback to help shape its future. But on the downside, there wasn’t much content initially, and frequent changes and updates made it hard to stay invested for long. I eventually stepped away for a while, but I knew that Moon Studios was hard at work on bringing new content to the game. Now, nearly a year later, Moon Studios is unveiling The Breach, a massive update that will be released on April 30th, 2025. Oh, and did I forget to mention that this update will be free?
