The legal case against Bungie and Destiny 2 for copyright infringement will be moving forward, after Bungie has failed to produce archived content that is the subject of the lawsuit.
Writer Matthew Kelsey Martineau sued Bungie for copyright infringement in 2024 regarding the company's use of storylines in the Red Legion content that were allegedly very similar to Martineasu's writings on WordPress (via Gamesindustry.biz). As reported by VGC, the motion from Bungie to have the lawsuit dismissed has been denied by the courts, due to the company being unable to produce "vaulted" content that is the subject of the lawsuit.
