Critic Reviews for Patapon 1+2 Replay
Patapon 1+2 Replay brings back the classic rhythm action games that shows their high quality stands the test of time.
The inclusion of both the original and its superior sequel make Patapon 1+2 a great value release at the very least, but Bandai Namco could have done so much more to make these games as palatable as possible for modern audiences.
While Patapon 1+2 Replay is a pretty straightforward rerelease of its PSP counterparts, it remains an incredibly unique and deeply engaging set of games.
There really isn’t much more to say. Patapon 1+2 Replay is something that should be experienced. A throwback to a wilder time at Sony, where new hardware would be a place for whimsical experimentation. It’s a game that plays with wild ideas, and ones that generally all succeed. If you’re looking for something strange and different, or want to spend some time with a classic, you can’t do much better.
Patapon 1+2 Replay is a nostalgic blast from the past and features many upgrades from the original titles, including difficulty and latency sliders. While the story is light and the timing can be strict, this re-release manages to capture the charm of the originals while updating the games to stand alongside other modern titles, making Patapon 1+2 Replay a must-own for fans of the series.
There's much more to "Patapon" than one might initially imagine, and that's why the remake collection is still both playable and highly recommended. If you haven't tried "Patapon" yet, you should do so now!

If you've always been curious to play the Patapon series but never had the chance to do so before, Patapon 1 + 2 Replay is certainly the ideal game for you to take your first steps in the series. With well-done graphics, the developers of this port have done a much better job than the remasters previously released on PS4. I had a lot of fun with the game, but I confess it's not the kind of game I'd want to buy right now, especially considering that I have no nostalgia for the original.
