Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is a great fighting game wrapped up in a very bad package, with everything that made it special in 2019 still holding up today but little to justify why this re-release wasn't just another DLC pack.
Seven years of content only partially wrapped up in one snug package.
For newcomers, Dead or Alive 6 Last Round is going to be an electric experience, and it's guaranteed to be one of the best fighters this year purely by the will of its savage gameplay. For vets, however, it may indeed be DOA.
It's a great introduction if you missed out on DOA6, but returning players will have to wait for some of its more exciting additions.
Forcing fans to re-purchase characters again is just icing on the top. Sadly, I cannot recommend this package, if you already own DoA 6, just stick with that, there is little reason to upgrade to the Last Round version.
This should have been a more generous bundle, with all content included, a tag-team mode, and rollback netcode. Instead it’s a cash grab with scant new features to justify its inexplicable existence.
Dead or Alive 6: Last Round is a strong fighter that features a wonderful triangle system, adding an extra layer of depth to battles. Although the story mode lacks the focus and structure of its peers, it makes up for this with the wealth of content on offer.
Dead or Alive 6: Last Round is a step in the right direction, both to attract fans of the saga and to revive the interest of other players and attract more followers to these ranks (myself included), since with this we await the confirmed new installment in the future.
