Turki Alalshikh, owner of The Ring magazine and chairman of the General Entertainment Authority for Saudi Arabia, has revealed that a new boxing video game is now in development with Street Fighter creator Takashi Nishiyama at the helm. Nishiyama is the president of video game developer Dimps, best known for working on a variety of Sonic, Dragon Ball, and Street Fighter games.
With EA's Fight Night series lying dormant for many years, boxing fans have been calling out for a studio to fill the gap in the market.
