With how closely everyone was following the flood of rumors ahead of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered being revealed and released, there was virtually no chance of it failing outright, but it has become a certifiable hit, even when discounting its availability on Game Pass. Oblivion never enjoyed the exceptional popularity of its successor Skyrim, but The Elder Scrolls seems to have reached new heights, with Oblivion Remastered quickly becoming one of 2025's best-selling games.

According to Circana's video game industry analyst Mat Piscatella (via a Bluesky post), Oblivion Remastered became the year's third best-selling game in just one week following its release, trailing only Monster Hunter Wilds and Assassin's Creed Shadows. Replying to a comment, Piscatella clarifies that Game Pass subscribers who played Oblivion Remastered without purchasing the game do not figure into Circana's dollar sales statistics. Amazingly, these numbers were calculated for the week ending April 26, meaning Oblivion Remastered reached the 2025 dollar sales podium in just five days.
