We're closing in on the May 30 release of Elden Ring Nightreign, and game director Junya Ishizaki has offered some interesting insight into how particular bosses will affect your strategy. Those lucky enough to be selected played Elden Ring Nightreign during its Closed Network Test in February, and feedback from it has informed changes to the game made by FromSoftware.
Speaking with PlayStation Blog, Ishizaki explains how "in the final version of the game, you’ll be able to determine the weakness of each boss before heading out" to Limveld, which will influence players' decisions as they scour the map for items. "We intentionally designed the game so that you’ll need to adapt and evolve your strategies along with the changes that happen in the game," he continued. Using an unspecified boss that's weak to poison as an example, Ishizaki says, "you may proactively search for and loot items that inflict poison more often in that run."
But even those who fought Gladius in the network test, the only Nightlord featured therein, won't be fully prepared for Nightreign. FromSoftware "received a lot of helpful feedback regarding the difficulty," and changes were made to find the right balance between challenge and enjoyment....
