New Half-Life 2 RTX Update Fixes Lighting Issues

The Orbifold team has released a new update for the Half-Life 2 RTX project, with the latest version seeing drastic improvements to lighting while also bringing improvements to water and fog visuals, updating the antlion model, improving stability, and more. These changes address some of the most widespread criticisms surrounding Half-Life 2 RTX, with many fans unimpressed with how the demo captured the aesthetic and tone of areas such as Ravenholm at launch.

Developed independently of Valve by Orbifold Studios, the team behind popular Half-Life 2 mods such as Half-Life 2 VR and Raising the Bar: Redux, Half-Life 2 RTX is an ambitious project that intends to visually overhaul the entire game. The project aims to introduce cutting-edge raytracing and rendering technology while also remastering the game's entire library of assets, and its initial demo version launched earlier in March for players to try out.
