Nintendo Predicts Massive Switch 2 Launch Sales, But Isn't Ruling Out A Price Increase If Tariff Situation Changes

Nintendo’s sales forecasts for the Switch 2 would make it one of the fastest-selling game consoles of all time, but things might change after launch.

Nintendo has released their sales predictions for the next fiscal year (reported by VGC), ending in March 2026, predicting to sell some 15 million Switch 2 consoles and 45 million games.

That would put it in a top spot for console launch sales; the original Switch, which launched earlier in the fiscal year than the Switch 2, sold just under 15 million units in its first year.

The PS4 and PS5, meanwhile, both launched later in the year and sold around 7.5 million each, although severe stock issues hampered the PS5 launch.

Analysts have made similar predictions about Switch 2 launch sales, to the point where pre-orders have been somewhat chaotic and Nintendo isn’t sure they’ll be able to keep up with the demand.

That being said, the tariffs in the US have already been causing issues for the Switch 2, and that situation is still in constant flux.
