One of the most satisfying things in video games, besides getting the Platinum Trophy or 1,000 Gamerscore, is the sense of progression that comes from slowly upgrading your weak weapons into better and better tools.

Oftentimes, that requires grinding — like a lot of grinding — and, for the most part, it's worth it. That said, there are a few games where the end weapon was almost certainly not worth the hassle. Taking to Reddit, gamers shared their worst experiences with unlockables.
Right from the get-go, one fan took things back in time to the original Battlefront 2, where, by getting "Legendary" status with the rocket launcher, you'll get the guided version of the weapon. "Basically changed the class, from destroying a corridor, to being a greenhouse that fires rockets," they wrote.
Elsewhere, Mjölnir from Assassin's Creed Valhalla made an appearance. To unlock that weapon, you had to complete an absurd number of tasks, including finishing the story and defeating 45 specific enemies.
"This just unearthed some massive PTSD," one fan wrote in response.
The legendary weapons from Fable were also mentioned, as were the ultimate weapons for the party members in Final Fantasy 10.
