Despite the pre-launch controversy, Assassin's Creed Shadows has been well received. The dual protagonists allow players to approach objectives in whatever way they prefer, with both stealth and combat approaches having their own appeal. That's not to say the game is perfect.

Fans have complained about the typical Assassin's Creed bloat, the unnecessary dialogue options, and some hard to complete side objectives. However, one of the most constant complaints has been about the fluidity of the parkour and the ejecting. While Ubisoft has a parkour update lined up for later this month, it seems a smaller update has already paved the way for future improvements.
As showcased by YouTuber Ropotopolous, the parkour has become much smoother and the animations have improved as well. This was after update 1.0.4, which was only supposed to add a new free quest and some bug fixes. Even the official patch notes have no mention of these parkour improvements. They also noted that the much requested improvements to ejecting have been implemented.
