A new Magic: The Gathering card featuring Sephiroth has sparked speculation regarding the villain’s potential appearance in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, and Creative Director Tetsuya Nomura recently addressed the question. The Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy started in 2020, with the sequel released in 2024, and fans are eager to discover more about the third and final installment of the saga. Unfortunately, not much information is available just yet.

Last week, Hasbro unveiled more details about the new Magic: The Gathering crossover with Final Fantasy, which includes cards featuring tons of memorable characters from the long-running franchise. One of the most noteworthy cards of the new collaboration was Sephiroth’s, as the villain comes in two versions, and curiously, one of them has a distinct design that had not yet been seen in games. While the “Sephiroth, Fabled SOLDIER” card looks like what fans would expect, the “Sephiroth, One-Winged Angel” card depicts what seems to be a new form for Safer Sephiroth, the original game’s final boss.
