MTG Reveals Ridiculous Aerith Card Of An Iconic FF7 Remake Moment

Magic: The Gathering has revealed more cards from its collaboration with Final Fantasy, and one features an iconic Aerith moment from Final Fantasy 7 Remake. MTG is no stranger to crossover sets, and the Final Fantasy cards have been slowly being revealed in the run-up to release on June 13, 2025.

During a WeeklyMTG livestream on the Magic Twitch channel, an Aerith Gainsborough promo card was revealed showing her holding a folding chair over her head, about to strike a foe with it. The artwork is inspired by a scene where Aerith does just that after she and Tifa are confronted in Wall Market. The scene subverts Aerith's usually demure demeanor, and has since become a meme. The promo card can be obtained during MTG's Pro Tour Qualifier season between October 11 and November 23 later this year.

Aerith was practically a shoo-in for some incredible MTG x Final Fantasy cards, but the iconic Chairith scene being adapted is unexpected. It is, however, a definite highlight of the set.
