Fake Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Plushies Are Out There, But An Official One Is In The Works

There are, unfortunately, several fake but cute Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 plushies of fan-favorite character Esquie out in the wild, but an official one could be on the table, according to the developers. Esquie joins the expedition a little less than halfway through the game and serves as the party's mount, providing them transportation on land, the ocean, and eventually, the sky. Raising his relationship level eventually allows him to go underwater, too. He's become quite popular for his comical dialogue and adorable persona, so quite a few fake merchandise postings are popping up.

As written on the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 official X account, "any third-party websites selling Esquie plushies are NOT officially licensed." However, the post also confirms an official Esquie plushie could be in the works, as developer Sandfall Interactive and publisher Kepler Interactive look into it (via IGN). A lot of these fake plushy postings are allegedly using AI-generated artwork to advertise the product. The developers strongly urge fans against purchasing these, as they could be scams.
