Doom: The Dark Ages players took to social media to express how much they miss using the Meat Hook from Doom Eternal, which is a weapon enhancement for the latter game's Super Shotgun. Although the Shield Saw Charge serves a similar purpose in Doom: The Dark Ages as a gap closer, it can't be used to swing around enemies like the Meat Hook could.
In Doom Eternal, the Super Shotgun could be used to deal high damage while allowing the Doom Slayer to remain mobile and keep demonic hordes at bay. Although the Super Shotgun can clear a room in just a few shots, its versatility gets a major boost once the Meat Hook weapon mod is unlocked. The Meat Hook shoots a chain hook from the gun barrel that can then attach itself to a demon and let the Doom Slayer either swing around for momentum or follow up with a point-blank shotgun blast to eliminate the target. In short, the Meat Hook weapon mod makes the Super Shotgun one of Doom Eternal's most reliable weapons.
