Multiplayer PvP or PvE elements may be a part of the Hogwarts Legacy sequel, according to a new WB Games job posting. Hogwarts Legacy is just over two years old now, and thanks to it becoming the best-selling game of 2023, even doing the impossible and topping Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, WB Games and developer Avalanche Software have already confirmed a sequel is in the works.
It's safe to say that WB Games hasn't had much luck with live service and multiplayer games in recent years. Its open-world action title, Gotham Knights, failed to make any waves when it was released in 2022, and after a full-blown relaunch, its Smash Bros-like platform brawler, MultiVersus, is shutting down later in May. Perhaps WB Games' biggest recent blunder, aside from closing Monolith Productions and canceling the Wonder Woman game, was Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Rocksteady's ambitious live service experience, which had to shut down not even a full year after its early 2024 launch.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 is years away at this point, but the sequel could be the perfect game to make use of the Switch 2's features.
