Before Soulstorm continues Abe's years-long quest not to be eaten, players can see where it all began when Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty comes to Switch this fall.
Launching with both physical and digital versions, the former of which is available for preorder now. There is also a Limited Edition available for preorder which includes exclusive box art, stickers, and a key chain. All editions come to Switch in October, with no date yet given.
The remake of Abe's Oddysee originally launched on PS4 in 2014 before later coming to PC and Xbox One the following year and even the Wii U one year after that. It earned "Strong" reviews from 54 critics giving it an 82 average.
The series follows Abe, a Mudokon who finds out Big Business is seeking to fill a void in their meat-packing industry by using Mudokon flesh. The action puzzle platformer series regularly has players needing to distract and outwit the meat-packing workers of RuptureFarms and get to safety, even sometimes bringing others with him.
The original Abe's Oddysee launched way back in 1997 on PlayStation and has since been re-released several times including on PC and PlayStation Vita. When Oddworld: Soulstorm launches on next-generation platforms, it will be the fifth installment of the death-defying series, but other than the remake, it's been 15 years since a new game has released in the franchise. Fans can rejoin Abe and aid his efforts not to be made into someone's lunch this fall on Nintendo Switch.
