Gamers will be able to vote for the Pokemon that will be featured in Pokemon GO's September Community Day.
On the official Pokemon GO Twitter account, developer Niantic announced the Pokemon that players can vote for to be the focus of September and October's Community Days. The four candidates are Charmander, Caterpie, Grimer, and Porygon. The top two chosen will be featured in the next two Community Days. No other information was given, including when players can expect to vote, though the tweet did state that more information will come soon.
Players have been able to vote for which Pokemon will be featured in a Community Day before. The past two Pokemon, Weedle and Gastly, were chosen by having players vote for who they wanted to be featured in a Community Day.
There are still a few events going on in Pokemon GO during August. Until September 1st, Scraggy, the Shedding Pokemon, will be available as a Research Breakthrough encounter. There are also two more Spotlight hours left for the month of August. These hours happen every Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. local time. On August 18th, Venipede will be in the spotlight. Players will be able to earn twice the XP for evolving a Pokemon during Venipede's Spotlight Hour. The final Spotlight Hour for August will take place on the 25th, and will feature Geodude. Players will earn twice the Stardust for catching a Pokemon during that hour.
There are still Ultra Unlock Weeks for players to enjoy during the rest of August. The current Ultra Unlock going on right now, the Enigma Week, will end on August 14th. Featured Pokemon will range from Elgyem to Deoxys. Deoxys will appear in five-star raids with the chance of running into the Pokemon's Shiny version. Players might also run into a shiny Staryu. The final Ultra Unlock, Unova Week, will begin on August 14th and last until August 21st. Sewaddle, Cottonee, Emolga, and Bouffalant will all appear in the world of Pokemon GO for the first time. Bouffalant will appear in New York City and the surrounding areas. Genesect will appear in five-star raids, with a chance to encounter a Shiny one. Gamers may also run into a Shiny Roggenrola.
