Grand Theft Auto 5 total sales have passed 215 million copies, a new Take-Two report revealed. The GTA series has been a massive cash cow for Rockstar and its parent company, and while the wait for the sixth entry may be longer than many fans were hoping for, the fifth is still bringing in serious revenue. Over a decade after its release, Grand Theft Auto 5 is still selling millions of units.
In February 2025, Take-Two revealed that GTA 5 had passed 210 million copies sold over its lifetime, selling five million units in a single quarter. With over 1.5 million copies sold each month on average, it's no surprise that the title is one of the best-selling video games of all time. Its legacy is far from over, too, as GTA 5 has done it again just a few months later.
