343 Industries, the team behind the popular Halo games, has shared a creative memento to celebrate the launch of id Software’s Doom: The Dark Ages, bringing Master Chief into Hell through an impressive piece of artwork. Doom: The Dark Ages is the eighth main entry in Bethesda’s franchise, following 2020’s Doom Eternal, and this installment serves as a prequel with a medieval setting, illustrating the Doom Slayer’s origins.
Halo, on the other hand, is currently maintaining the 2021 entry Halo Infinite, which follows the supersoldier Master Chief’s fight against the Banished. Both the Halo and Doom franchises exist among the most influential FPS games that are worth playing just for their importance to the genre, including Wolfenstein 3D, Half-Life, and GoldenEye 007, and seeing Master Chief tackle demons in 343 Industries’ celebratory artwork is a sight for sore eyes.
