The Second Galactic War has come home to Super Earth, and Helldivers 2 players are growing quite fond of their new battlefield comrades, the SEAF troops. The Illuminate invasion of Super Earth has begun the most dire story arc in the game's history, but it's also brought some wonderful new content, including Super Earth Armed Forces NPCs that fight alongside the Helldivers in the streets of Super Earth's mega cities.
Squadrons of SEAF soldiers are giving their lives to hold off the squids, and players are voraciously trying to protect them. Over on Reddit, r/Helldivers is very active with players sharing their admiration for SEAF. The blue-clad units are the main infantry force of Super Earth, and hadn't been seen in-game prior to the Heart of Democracy update. Players are now desperate to keep them alive; Reddit user Tr1kar even posted about using their Stim Pistol on injured SEAF soldiers, regardless of its effectiveness.
