Pokemon TCG Pocket Announces New Expansion, Adding Ultra Beasts to Game

A new expansion is coming to Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket next week. Late last month, Pokémon TCG Pocket launched its latest full expansion, Celestial Guardians, which added creatures from Pokémon Sun and Moon to the game. Noticeably missing from that set were the Ultra Beasts, a group of interdimensional Pokémon. The popular speculation was that they were being held back for the next mini-expansion, which are typically released on a monthly basis.

Today, The Official Pokémon YouTube channel unveiled a trailer for Extradimensional Crisis, a new expansion that officially adds Ultra Beasts to the mobile card game. All Ultra Beast cards have a special Ultra Beast label, with some cards having effects that only impact Ultra Beasts. In addition to the Ultra Beasts, some of the cards confirmed to appear in the set include Tapu Koko ex, Lusamine (which interacts specifically with Ultra Beast cards) and Type: Null. The new set will be released in Pokémon TCG Pocket on May 29.
