Elden Ring Nightreign is now just about a week away. You and two friends will be able to traverse across Limveld as various class characters, some more famous than others. You'll also come across some familiar faces from FromSoftware's pantheon of nightmarish bosses, but they'll be tougher than you remember.

Thankfully, you don't have to play with two other players if you don't want to. Nightreign will scale accordingly if you go solo. Of course, it's a FromSoftware game, so it will still be hard as nails. While the devs are confident on full-party balancing and solo balancing, it seems they simply overlooked the duos aspect.
In a conversation with IGN, director Junya Ishizaki explained that the devs were so focussed on solo and trios, that duos was left out in the cold. FromSoftware probably left it out at lunch because it didn't want to put out a half-baked version of it. However, he did mention that there are plans to implement it post-launch.
