Starting June 7 and 8, during the 2025 Pokemon Trainers Cup tournament in South Korea, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will distribute a Mystery Gift code that trainers can redeem for a Porygon2. The Porygon2 that will be freely distributed to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers is modeled after the one used by Juyoung Hong, the 2024 Pokemon Trainers Cup Champion.
Known as the Virtual Pokemon, Porygon2 first appeared in Pokemon Gold and Silver. Porygon2 evolves from Porygon via trading while holding the Up-Grade item. Two generations later, Porygon2 received a new evolution in Porygon-Z, which also required trading while holding an item. Porygon2 is noted for its blue and pink design and versatile move set, including attacks like Trick Room, Thunder Wave, and Ice Beam. In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, Porygon2 can infrequently be found in Five-Star and Six-Star Tera Raid dens throughout the Terarium. However, this method requires access to the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC.
