The words “Nintendo Direct” often invoke a sense of joy or dread in the gaming community. That might sound odd, but it’s a fact of life when you realize the epic highs we’ve had via them, and the soul-crushing lows that have emerged when the Directs didn’t come for a long time, or, we had a “mini” or “partner’s showcase” version where nothing of consequence was shown. The first official Direct for the Nintendo Switch 2 happened in early April, and it highlighted a few key games that would start off the new console’s life cycle. Yet, fans wanted more.
It was clear that the first showcase was more about detailing the console than the games that were coming in the period following release. So, many hope that the next one will be more game-focused.
