It's no secret that Xbox Game Pass has been on a hot streak as of late, and luckily for subscribers, its momentum doesn't seem to be stopping any time soon. Microsoft upset many subscribers when it made the decision to split Xbox Game Pass into multiple tiers, reserving most of the day one releases for the Ultimate tier and PC Game Pass, but on the bright side, the day one games have been defying expectations.

2025 is shaping up to be the best year for Xbox Game Pass to date. Things started slowly in January, but the month ended with the addition of the well-reviewed Citizen Sleeper 2 to Game Pass and the surprise Ninja Gaiden 2 Black shadow drop. February 2025 saw the long-awaited day one game Avowed join the Game Pass lineup along with Game of the Year nominee Balatro. In March, Game Pass subscribers were treated to games like the early access version of 33 Immortals and the hit action survival game Atomfall. But April 2025 is when Xbox Game Pass really started cooking, with that month alone seeing the likes of South of Midnight, Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition, Blue Prince, GTA 5, Towerborne, The Elder Scrolls...
