We've been waiting nearly a year for the promised The Outer Worlds DLC, but it's finally almost here. Perils on Gorgon launches next week, September 9, for all the game's platforms. It will be available for $14.99 except for Xbox Game Pass members where they'll receive a 10% discount with their subscription, as is always the case with DLC for games in the Game Pass library.

In the first of two upcoming narrative expansions, Perils on Gorgon takes players to a new location, the Gorgon Asteroid for a "noir-tinged adventure." New weapons, characters, and of course quests will all be available to players who travel to the Gorgon Asteroid.

In this extended gameplay demo, you can see the developers play out a complete side quest called "Love Is The Plan, The Plan Is Death." One new weapon on display in the video is a new Science weapon called the Pest Extermination Tool, which pulls enemies into your grasp with a gravity tether so you an finish them off with spikes.

The Outer Worlds originally launched on October 25, 2019 to "Strong" praise here on OpenCritic. A combined 196 critics gave the game an 82 average, with the same percentage of players recommending the game. It comes from Obsidian, the team behind RPGs such as Fallout: New Vegas and South Park: The Stick of Truth, and successfully manages to showcase both the interesting world and quest design of the former with the sense of humor of the latter. You can find Perils on Gorgon on digital stores beginning next week, September 9.
