Roguelike deckbuilder Monster Train 2 has reached an impressive player count mere days after it launched. Released on May 21, 2025, Monster Train 2 introduces new card types, Clans, features, and enemies to bring more excitement to fans.

Developed by Shiny Shoe, the Monster Train sequel follows an alliance of angels and demons, who have to work together to defeat the Titans that have taken over Heaven. They must now navigate Hell, Heaven, and the Abyss, while overcoming hordes of enemies that are trying to stop them. Apart from showcasing new exciting gameplay, Monster Train 2 also released a Cult of the Lamb collaboration, which allows players to recruit Cultists to the Legions of Hell.

One of the free PlayStation Plus games for May 2025 is proving to be a massive hit with subscribers.

Just a few days after its release, Monster Train 2 has earned "Overwhelmingly Positive" reviews on Steam, and has also reached a peak of 17,914 active users, surpassing the first game's lifetime player count peak. This already puts Monster Train 2 in the top 100 of the Steam Charts, which is a remarkable feat for the new deckbuilder.
