While many people have been eager to finally get their hands on the Nintendo Switch 2, it would seem that some GameStop customers received damaged units after going through the trouble of pre-ordering the console. With a release date of June 5, the Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been unleashed on the world, which has many fans excited.

Gamers opening up their Nintendo Switch 2 should be prepared to download a patch, as Nintendo recently confirmed that the console requires a day-one update. Apparently, the patch unlocks the ability to actually play games on the console. It would seem that Nintendo locked the ability to play titles behind the patch in order to prevent leaked gameplay footage from users who may have received their units early.

I successfully picked up my Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order, but it could have gone better.

In a recent post on Twitter, Wario64 shared images of a damaged Nintendo Switch 2 screen provided by a GameStop customer. According to the person who bought the console, their local GameStop stapled their pre-order receipt to the front of the system's box.
