After years of fans hoping and plenty of rumors swirling, Final Fantasy Tactics is finally making a comeback. The new game was unveiled at the June 4 PlayStation State of Play, and will be released later this year. The series has long been a fan favorite, but has only ever received two games, with the latest being Final Fantasy Tactics Advance for the Game Boy Advance.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is a bundle combining two versions of the 1997 PlayStation classic, revamped for PS4 and PS5. The Enhanced version includes fully voiced dialog and brand-new graphics, plus a load of quality-of-life improvements. The Classic version is a remaster of the original graphics that incorporates the much-celebrated War of the Lions translation, as well as some new features like autosave. The Ivalice Chronicles will release on September 30, 2025, and pre-orders will open today, June 4.
