At Summer Games Fest 2025, Bandai Namco announced the sequel to its anime souls-like hit Code Vein, Code Vein II. It’s been eight years since the first game was initially announced.

The trailer once again brings us back to the gothic-inspired, revenant-infested world of Code Vein. This time, we meet a new protagonist known as the Revenant Hunter, who wields a blood veil similar to that of the original game’s hero. However, there is a notable change: golden blood now takes center stage, replacing the signature red from the first entry. We’re also introduced to Lou, a new companion character who seems to be filling the role once held by Io, your guardian from the previous game.
We see her open a portal, possibly hinting at a different timeline or an alternate dimension within this world. Gameplay footage teases new mechanics, including what looks like a perfect guard system and several new weapon types.
