One of Obsidian Entertainment’s most overlooked games is Grounded. Released back in 2020 for Early Access, and eventually coming to fruition in 2022, this survival experience that was essentially a video game rendition of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids ended up being surprisingly enjoyable as you found your way through your backyard of horrors. This shrunk a handful of kids to miniature size and puts them up against insects and hazardous environments. While you fought giant spiders and traversed ant farms, you uncovered the mysteries of how this came to be and the experiments that were happening in your own backyard.

During Xbox Games Showcase 2025, Xbox announced a follow-up to Grounded, featuring even more weaponry, a brand-new setting, and the same shrunken kids surviving the most horrific situations. You’ll still be fighting the same old bugs, with additional ones like praying mantises and cockroaches, but now you’ll have more capabilities, such as befriending and riding ants, all while they help you fight.
