Activision has officially revealed Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and it will feature a name that longtime fans of the franchise will recognize. The upcoming title will continue the Black Ops arm of the Call of Duty series, which focuses on elite forces carrying out covert operations. This time, though, it seems that the game will be taking the traditionally historic location into a brand new setting.
Black Ops 7 was revealed as part of the Xbox Games Showcase today, and it will merge the old with the new through the return of a familiar face. The trailer revealed that David Mason, the protagonist of Black Ops 2, will make a return in the next game in the franchise. Mason will be joined by the second Black Ops game's antagonist—in a setting that hints at coming changes to the franchise.
The current iteration, Black Ops 6, focuses on several ex-CIA agents in an alternate history version of the 1990s, who form a team to take down the nefarious Pantheon group.
