After years of speculation, Xbox has officially unveiled its first handheld console, developed in partnership with Asus. Revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase on July 8, the device—called the ROG Xbox Ally—marks Microsoft’s entry into the handheld gaming space alongside rivals like the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck. Whispers of a handheld Xbox have circulated for a while, with Xbox head Phil Spencer confirming its existence in late 2024. Now, that project is real—and it’s arriving with two models this holiday season.
