DualShockers learned at a preview event that Resident Evil Requiem will feature options for both first and third-person viewpoints during gameplay, merging elements from the most popular entries in the series.

The mainline Resident Evil games used third-person camera perspectives, all the way up until Resident Evil 7. This was when the series shifted to a more cinematic first-person, reflecting the series going back to its survival horror roots. Resident Evil 8 also used a first-person view, but added a third-person option in a later update.

Like its predecessor, Resident Evil Requiem will offer both viewpoints. While attending Summer Games Fest Play Days, Dualshockers attended the Capcom Theatre for hands-off previews for both Onimusha and Resident Evil Requiem, where it was revealed that it would use both first and third-person views.

Resident Evil Requiem Is Following In Village’s Footsteps

The preview featured a gameplay section with Grace Ashcroft, the protagonist of Resident Evil Requiem, and daughter of Alyssa from Resident Evil Outbreak. The Grace demo was mostly focused on atmosphere, as a monster stalked her through a building.
