Roots Will Rise in Latest Songs of Conquest DLC

Publisher Coffee Stain and developer Lavapotion have announced the Roots DLC for their turn-based strategy game, Songs Of Conquest. This new addition will introduce a "treefolk" faction in the game that will blur the line between life and decay.

Alongside the new faction update, the DLC will also feature a host of new content that the devs are still keeping a secret until the launch day. That said, Lavapotion has announced that a new faction is in the works and that Nintendo Switch will finally get its much-needed update. The Songs of Conquest: Roots DLC will be available on June 17, 2025.

What is Songs of Conquest?

Songs of Conquest is a turn-based strategy game that blends classic pixel visuals with modern gameplay mechanics. Think of Heroes of Might and Magic mixed with Total War and you get Songs of Conquest. You control one unit called "Wielders," and you act as an army commander in tactical, turn-based combat, with kingdom management. There's also community mods, campaigns and a map editor so there's almost an endless amount of content available for you to play through.
