Konami’s Press Start livestream event took place recently, and Castlevania fans were disappointed to learn the gothic franchise was noticeably absent from any announcement lineups. Thankfully, an old rumor speculating a new game is on the way still seems to have legs. The Castlevania series, known in Japan as Akumajo Dracula, primarily follows Count Dracula and the Belmont clan of vampire hunters, and the franchise made its debut back in 1986 on Nintendo’s Famicom Disk System.
The Silent Hill community, however, was spoiled during the livestream, as a brand-new Silent Hill remake game was announced. The project is currently in development, helmed by the Silent Hill 2 Remake studio, Bloober Team, and is reportedly a remake of the original 1999 Silent Hill game. No further details were given during the livestream, but viewers did get a glimpse of the remake’s current logo.
