Call of Duty has established itself as one of the premier franchises in the world of first-person shooters, with a long history of massively successful titles. From its origins as a World War 2-themed shooter debuting in 2003, the series has seen success across multiple branches, including Black Ops, Modern Warfare, and its traditional World War 2 games. Scheduled to release at some point during 2025, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will look to continue a long line of success for the Call of Duty subseries. Black Ops 7 will re-visit the story of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 protagonist David Mason, ten years following the conclusion of the Black Ops sequel. Black Ops 7 was also featured at Microsoft's recent Xbox Games Showcase, teasing the story and premise with a full reveal set to come later in the summer.
