We now know who will be the next character to join Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

During a special presentation today, it was revealed that Steve from Minecraft will be joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate roster. While Steve will be the default skin for the character, there will also be skins for Alex, Zombie, and Enderman. The presentation showed off plenty of gameplay, giving us an idea of how Steve will play. In the trailer, Steve was shown using his sword and pickaxe to attack his opponents. He also used explosives and a minecart. We saw that he is able to use blocks in order to build on the stage. What seemed to be Steve's Final Smash had him trap his opponent in a house filled with explosives and Creepers, which then explodes.

Today's presentation also showed off the Minecraft stage. The stage is comprised of Minecraft blocks, and changed with the seasons. Not much was shown, so we do not fully know how the stage will actually work, and what kinds of hazards it will have.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate director Masahiro Sakurai will be holding a special presentation this Saturday, October 3rd. The presentation will air at 7:30 a.m. PST. The event will reveal more about the upcoming character.

Steve will be the second character to release through the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2. The Fighter Pass Vol. 2 is available for $30. The first character to release through the current Fighters Pass was Min Min from Arms. There will be four more character coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate through the Fighters Pass Vol. 2, all of whom will come with their own stage and music. The remaining four characters will all be released by December 31st, 2021.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available now for the Nintendo Switch.
