By now, you must have realised that the new features, 24 racer lineups, and winding tracks are a recipe for chaos, with shells, fireballs, rivals, and other items constantly crashing into you.

While the level of chaos has been amped up from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, it seems Nintendo thinks it's still not enough. In the game's first update, the patch notes read "Fixed an issue where items were no longer able to be used."
