Yesterday, Bungie announced that its upcoming extraction live-service shooter Marathon was getting delayed indefinitely, which shouldn't surprise anyone if you've been keeping tabs on the game.
Apparently, even the developers at the studio were unaware of the game's delay, and only found out about it at the same time as everyone else.
If true, this means the dysfunction at the studio is even more severe than anyone thought.
Marathon Game Devs Only Heard About The Delay When The Announcement Happened It's Claimed
This new tidbit of info comes from journalist Paul Tassi who mentioned it over on X (formerly Twitter), where he claimed the devs were only finding out about the delay "just now," meaning the same time as it was officially announced.
Tassi has leaked info about Destiny and Bungie previously, so he's a credible source of info when it comes to news about the studio. Even so, this is still second-hand info, so there is a slight chance he was fed wrong info. However, looking at the recent tribulations happening at the studio, the announcement not being shared with the entire dev team doesn't seem like it's out of the question.
