Borderlands 3 didn't quite capture the same magic as the first two games in the series. Perhaps it was the insufferable streamer duo in place of Handsome Jack, or that the audience grew out of the series' slapstick humour, or even the mere presence of Claptrap, but despite how Randy Pitchford feels about it, Borderlands 3 was undoubtedly a low point for the series.

Gearbox Software founder Randy Pitchford has landed himself in hot water while talking about Borderlands 4.

In fact, Gearbox appears to be owning the fact now, as hinted at in the latest character trailer for Borderlands 4. The recently released trailer gives us a glimpse at the life of Vex before she became a Vault Hunter and how she got her Sire powers. In typical Gearbox fashion, the trailer wasn't afraid to make fun of Borderlands 3.

The trailer shows Vex working at a gun shop, which also sells some other stuff. Looking absolutely bored on the job.
