Assassin's Creed Shadows Budget Is Probably More Than What You're Expecting

While it's not cheap to develop AAA games these days, more often than not, game developers and publishers are very secretive about how much was spent on developing a game.

When it comes to Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft divulged the game's development budget, and chances are, it's higher than what you have in mind.

Bear in mind, Ubisoft didn't give the exact amount or the breakdown on every expense made.

Assassin's Creed Shadows Development Budget Ballooned Because Of The Game Engine

During Ubisoft's recent shareholders' meeting, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot mentioned that Assassin's Creed: Shadows had a similar budget to other AAA games.

"We don't disclose production costs, it did cost over 100 million euros, we'll say that. We don't give any final costs. We also invested heavily in the engine," Guillemot said (via Tweaktown).

In today's conversion, 100 euros is equal to $116 million in US currency. Given Guillemot's statement, it appears to be significantly higher than 100 million euros, although the exact amount is unknown. That's also just the production cost, and doesn't even include marketing and other ancillary expenditures.
