PvP is not coming to Phasmophobia at this point in development.

In an interview with IGN, one-man developer Kinetic Games stated that no additional game modes will be added to Phasmophobia at the moment, including a PvP mode. Instead of adding new modes, the developer wishes to balance the game first.

"The second PvP mode was added to the Trello to see what everyone's reactions would be," Kinetic Games single developer, who goes by the name Dknighter, explained. "Right now I have no plans to add another game mode, as it would turn the game into something completely different, and push the game away from what I want it to be. I want the game to remain 4 players vs. 1 AI, and balance the game, then add new features around that style of gameplay."

Dknighter also discussed his plans for the game staying in Early Access. The developer had plans for how long he wanted Phasmophobia to stay in Early Access, but the game's sudden popularity has changed those plans.

"I was originally planning the Early Access to be short, where I just add a few more maps, ghost types and equipment," Dknighter stated. "However, due to the game's popularity, everyone's expectations are increased so I am going to have to reconsider my plans for the game's future."

Phasmophobia is a horror title that has up to 4 players take on the roles of ghost hunters and investigate a number of hauntings. Players will explore a number of haunted locations, which includes houses, a school, and a hospital. Gamers make use of a number of items to find evidence of the ghost and figure what type of spirit they are dealing with. While players are hunting the ghost and finding evidence of its existence, the ghost will also be hunting, and can kill players if they are not careful.

Phasmophobia is available on PC through Early Access.
