While Electronic Arts (EA) hasn't officially announced the new Battlefield game yet, DICE has discussed the studio's design decisions regarding the upcoming shooter.
One of the more controversial things the studio aims to implement is allowing all classes to use any weapon the game has to offer.
For those unaware, in past Battlefield games, the developers locked some weapons behind certain classes. This meant that the Recon class is the only one that has access to sniper rifles, and so on.

DICE has gone on record stating that they are opening up all classes to allow the use of every available weapon. This has caused an uproar in the Battlefield community, since the player base is divided on whether this should be the game's future or not.
Chief among the concerns is that the Support class has access to ammo pouches/crates, which allows players to sit atop a perch, snipe to their heart's content, and not contribute to the team's objective.
