However, years later, it appears the Xbox Game Pass glow has tarnished, and a recent study paints a grim picture for developers and publishers hoping their games will explode in popularity on the subscription service.

Analytics firm Newzoo recently did a study on Xbox Game Pass about the service's subscriber behavior, gaming preferences, and more.
Speaking to the Australian Interactive Games and Entertainment Association’s Game Wise podcast, Newzoo Director of Market Intelligence Emmanuel “Manu” Rosier revealed that even if Xbox Game Pass subscribers tried a lot of games, they don't really play them for a long time after the initial period.
