It's not that Grand Theft Auto 5 is by any means lacking in things to do, sights to see, and - of course - an online mode that quickly became very much its own thing. People keep buying GTA 5, whether strictly for Grand Theft Auto Online, or purely to experience Franklin's, Michael's, and Trevor's gripping story, or some blend of both. Point is, folks tend to like this game.

But there's always room for more. Studios make tough decisions, cutting content that either isn't quite coming along well enough, or because there's simply not enough time left on the clock before their games are slated to hit store shelves. It's looking likely that one such sliced-out bit for GTA 5 was a comprehensive climbing mechanic.

The scoop comes by way of Lucas7yoshi, a known leaker and dataminer who posted a brief clip on Twitter showcasing "climbable things like pipes, walls, that might've required pressing buttons for each point". The testing file labels the overarching idea as 'Handholds'.
